FAQ

In my experience as personal coach I often answered questions  like these:

How long does a coaching program last? While people can get a lot of benefit from a single coaching session, the effects are cumulative and the true power of coaching emerges over time. Length of a coaching relationship depends on type of coaching and objectives. 10-20 sessions are usually a good program, but with specific issues a small number of sessions can be enough.

How does coaching differ from therapy? Coaching does not deal with psychological issues, does not heal emotional pain, and does not work on the past. Coaching focuses on where people are now, where they want to go and helps to reach their goals.

What are the effects of coaching? People acquire tools to act at their full potential, reaching quick, effective results to design their own future.

Who sets the goals? The client always decides on what to focus the coaching conversation.

Is it possible to become addicted? It is not. Coaching works on personal willingness to move forward in a totally independent way. The relationship between coach and client is based on mutual responsibility and trust. The client makes personal choices and acts accordingly.

What to expect from a coach? A coach supports clients without teaching nor judging, is a partner in identifying goals, barriers and pathways to results.

Is it possible to stop a coaching relationship? Yes, it is. If there is no progress, coach or client may suggest to interrupt.

How about confidentiality? Anything discussed during a coaching conversation is kept absolutely confidential.

How to choose a coach? Look for a professional. Get in touch and trust your feeling. It is important that you feel at ease from the first moment and that your body tells you if you would work with that person.
